Shabajul Haque, a 46-year-old father of five from Hull, was sentenced for sexually assaulting a vulnerable teenage girl.

Hull Crown Court heard that Haque kissed and touched the girl on multiple occasions in March 2022. The victim, who has mild learning difficulties, reported the incidents to her mother and the police after feeling distressed and shaken.

Haque initially denied the offences but later admitted to two counts of sexual assault.

Judge Alexander Menary acknowledged Haque's lack of previous convictions and his work commitments but emphasized the seriousness of his actions towards a vulnerable young person.

Haque was sentenced to 60 hours of unpaid work, 25 days of rehabilitation, and ordered to register as a sex offender for five years.
