Sex offender back in jail because he doesn't care for court orders.

Sex Offender Jailed for Flagrant Disregard of Court Orders

Shaun Paul Roberts, 32, has been sent back to prison after repeatedly breaching court orders. Roberts, known to Cornwall's courts, has a history of disregarding legal restrictions.

In May 2020, CornwallLive reported that Roberts received a suspended sentence for self-harm with a razor blade after harassing his former partner. He was later jailed for breaching a restraining order against her, stating, "If I want to be with you, I'll f***ing be with you, I don't care about the restraining order."

Now, 18 months later, Roberts appeared at Truro Magistrates Court, pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order between February 8 and 24. He also admitted to failing to notify a change of address, as required of registered sex offenders, and possession of cannabis.

Magistrates emphasized the seriousness of the offense, highlighting Roberts' blatant disregard for court orders and his history of previous offenses. Roberts was sentenced to 12 months in prison, and the cannabis was ordered to be destroyed.
