Music teacher fondled young girls during classes.

Musselburgh Music Teacher Faces Jail for Abusing Young Girls

A music teacher from Musselburgh, Simon Reeves, is facing jail time after being found guilty of abusing young girls during classes. This is the second time Reeves has been caught abusing children.

Reeves, a trumpet tutor from Leith, was accused of rubbing the legs of four schoolgirls, aged between nine and ten, while teaching at a primary school in East Lothian. He also rubbed their backs and thighs, as well as playing with their hair, during lessons.

The court heard that the four victims attended the same primary school between 2015 and 2017. They initially believed Reeves' behavior was "normal" and that he was "just being friendly" by touching them.

However, after one girl discovered that Reeves had been prosecuted last year for a similar offense and placed on the sex offenders register, they decided to report him.

Reeves was previously placed on the sex offenders register for two years after admitting to engaging in sexual activity with a young girl between December 2014 and June 2017. He appeared in court in August of last year for this offense.
