Thomas Noone Sentenced to Over 10 Years for Sexual Assault of Minor and Adult
Thomas Noone Sentenced to 10 and a Half Years for Sexual Assault
On Monday, November 18, 2024, Thomas Noone, aged 33, of Stretford, was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault by penetration against a minor and one count of sexual assault against an adult.
The case involved the bravery of a victim who disclosed non-recent sexual abuse that occurred when she was between 4 and 5 years old. The victim's grandfather contacted authorities in Lancashire in 2020, initiating an extensive investigation into the alleged offenses which took place at an address in Greater Manchester in 2010.
Noone had a prior conviction for a similar offense in 2016, where he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a female under the age of 13. This resulted in a three-year prison sentence and indefinite placement on the sex offenders register.
During the investigation, another victim came forward to report that she had also been sexually assaulted by Noone in 2014. One of the victims was encouraged to come forward after seeing a press release about Noone's previous conviction.
Noone denied the allegations during police interviews and pleaded not guilty at trial. However, he was ultimately found guilty by a jury.
