Dangerous Rapist Jailed for Attacking Woman

A dangerous rapist has been jailed as part of the Metropolitan Police Service's ongoing commitment to protect women and girls from harm.

Victor Adegbesan, 34, of Inverness Street, Camden was sentenced to 6 years and 7 months' imprisonment at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 26 July.

He was previously found guilty of two counts of rape after a trial at the same court on Friday, 3 May.

On Thursday, 22 July 2021, Adegbesan subjected the victim-survivor to a frightening and horrific ordeal when he raped her.

An investigation began after Met officers quickly responded to a 999 call by the victim. The team worked around-the-clock to gather evidence and secured a charge the next day, keeping Adegbesan in custody and off the streets.
