Crawley Man Jailed for Child Pornography

William Mousdell, 49, of Beeches Crescent in Crawley, has been sentenced to almost three years in prison for possessing thousands of indecent images of children.

Mousdell was arrested at his home on December 14, 2022, after police linked his address to the uploading of child abuse material online. A search of his devices revealed thousands of indecent images, including hundreds classified as Category A, the most serious level, depicting both moving and still images.

Among the images were non-sexual pictures of children known to Mousdell, which had been manipulated to appear sexually suggestive and violent. He was charged and convicted of three counts of making or possessing indecent images of children.

At Lewes Crown Court on March 28, 2024, Mousdell was sentenced to 31 months in prison. He was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, required to register as a sex offender, and issued multiple Restraining Orders.
